1 GB of RAM (32-bit); 2 GB of RAM (64-bit)
16 GB of available disk space (32-bit); 20 GB of avaiable disk space (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver with 128MB of graphics memory for windows aero

 What’s the difference between 32 & 64 bit Windows for hardware?

The main difference between x86 and x64 is the ability to natively address RAM greater than 4GB without using PAE. If you have 4GB of RAM or more, or plan on upgrading to that amount or more, then 64 bit is the architecture that you are after

Note: How do I tell if my computer can run a 64-bit version of Windows?
To run a 64-bit version of Windows, your computer must have a 64-bit-capable processor. To find out if your processor is 64-bit-capable, do the following:
1. Open Performance Information and Tools by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Performance Information and Tools.
2. Click View and print details.
3. In the System section, you can see what type of operating system you're currently running under System type. Under 64-bit capable, you can see whether you can run a 64-bit version of Windows. (If your computer is already running a 64-bit version of Windows, you won't see the 64-bit capable listing.).

How to check whether my system can install 64 bit.

Instructions:
If you are using Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> System. The System type: line will give you the Operating System type

If you are using Windows XP, click Start -> Run and type dxdiag. If a Windows dialog box is displayed asking if you want to verify your drivers, you can safely click No and continue. When the program has finished loading you may see your Operating System type
